HOW TO GET TO THE DEARLY KOH TAO HOSTEL

PICK UP SERVICE

Pick-up and drop-off service can be arranged through our hostel. This service is an additional THB100 per person.

TAXI

The Taxi rate may start at THB100 per person, but keep in mind that the minimum price per trip is around THB300. Let the taxi driver know that you would like to be dropped off at The Dearly Koh Tao Hostel, or Chalok Baan Kao Beach. Alternatively, you can show the driver the map or this message in Thai: "ไปเดอะเดียร์ลี่ โฮสเทล หาดโฉลกบ้านเก่า" and they should know where to take you. 

SCOOTER

Provided that you know how to ride the scooter properly, renting a scooter is one of the most convenient way to travel around the island. Scooter rentals will cost about THB250 - THB350 per day.

WALKING

From the main road at Mae Haad, you will want to walk southwest towards Chalok Baan Kao. This is an easy walk and it will take about 20 minutes. You will see our hostel on the left-hand side located on the main road.

Koh Tao is only reachable by Ferry. The services run from Chumphon, Surathani, Koh Samui, and Koh Phangan. The most notable ferry services are Lomprayah and Songserm. The overnight ferry is also available from Chumphon and Surathani. The Ferry will take you to Mae Haad Pier (the main pier on Koh Tao)

PLANE

You can take a flight to Koh Samui, Chomphon, or Suratthani and then take the ferry to Koh Tao. A flight to Koh Samui is the most convenient way. However, it comes with the price. A flight to Chomphon is a great alternative, while coming from Suratthani may take a bit longer.

TRAIN

You can take the train from Bangkok to Chumphon or Suratthani and then take the ferry to Koh Tao. From Bangkok, the journey to Chumphon will be shorter than to Suratthani.

BUS

The easiest way is to get the joint bus ticket with the ferry company. Lomprayah bus leaves from Khao San Road in Bangkok. Alternatively, you can also take the bus from Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai) to Chumphon or Suratthani, then take ferry to Koh Tao.
